Goodbye Eyang Kakung…

Just heard a grieving news from Jakarta, My grandfather passed away today, 11 May 2005 at around 03:00 AM…. May he rest in peace…

I must say I am not really close to my Eyang Kakung (that’s Javanese for grandpa), but I know he loves me:)

I remember fondly at this particular event from my childhood… I was 5 years old and I was a naughty lil’ biatch So one afternoon after I came back from school, I decided to stroll around the neighborhood in my bicycle and visited my friend who lived around a street away from my house. So I kinda didn’t tell anybody that I’m going off and My gramps was horrified when he went home and found me and ma’ bike were missing. And there were a lot of buses passed by my area during those days.

He wasreally worried actually so He went out and did a “Lil’-Viatch hunt” wearing only his sarong and wife beater top! And I don’t know how but he managed to find me and he was horrified that he dragged me home for about two blocks! I fought for my life of course but he was bigger and stronger and he had me in his left hand and my BMX in his right hand… and during those journey to my house, I knocked my big toe nail and it broke in two! It was fawkin painful OK! My dad had to bring me to the doctor and the bid D pulled out my toenail to prevent it from infection… and I had to wear slippers to school the next day… and to make it worst, the older kids were making fun of me… So, stickin’ to my bad ass nature, I beat them all up… and the principal called my mom to school the next day! WAKAKAKKAKA… It was such a fond memory…

Goodbye Eyang Kakung, I will miss seeing you making your paper clipping at the veranda, I will miss seeing you exercising EVERY MORNING after your morning prayers without fail, I will miss your thoughtful speeches on Every Hari Raya, I will miss your jokes that you repeated every year during those speeches, and most of all I will miss your spirit in life! You are the most discipline person I’ve ever met in my life…You’ve proven to me that when you set your mind on something, as long as you work hard for it, you will and you can achieve anything in life!

You are my role model… I salute You!

Peace out!

Second day of Hari Raya Idul Fitri

Selamat Hari Raya for those who celebrate it today!!!

Shit I felt worse today! My throat is really hurtin’. I’m bloody weak, I know, but I don’t know why, I always fell sick when I go back to Indo… it sucks!!!

So I drank lots of warm water and sweat it out a bit. Felt better after a few hours.

I had to go for my father’s side family gathering at Plumpang. We went there around 12 pm and we had some of my Uak Metel’s famous Belado Daging. Dang… she sure knows how to cook Belado man! Met up with my Nephews: Vino and his brother Yano, my cousin Kak Yori’s sons, Naja and Nayo, my cousin Kak Lani’s sons and the WWF kid, Bang Dolly’s kid Adil. Hmmm too many testosterones in my family nowJ Hopefully me and my sister can balance that by having girls… someday:d

I went back with my sister and brother, while my Mama and Papa went to our house at Cisalak. I had to go and visit my friends. We went to Meta’s place for some original Padang food! It’s delicious, she and her mom cooked Sayur Nangka, Opor Ayam, Sambel Goreng ati and Rendang. Yummeh… shit….. not good for my throat all right!!!

I planned to go to Eja’s place afterwards but had to cancel cos my throat is getting worse, so I opted to stay at home instead and asked my bro and sis to buy take out for us. The good thing about being the eldest is you always have your kid sis or bro to do things for you… sometimes, most of the time they rely on you to tell them how to do things. The perks of being a big sister I guess. But I love those two no matter what! Going off to bed early tonight. I have to be fit for tomorrow cos lots of things going to happen tomorrowJ Watch out for it. Nite nite…

My Mama and I painted the town red!

My mama was in town last weekend and we went shopping! It’s so good to have her around, I miss her a lot! She was a bit stress out that’s why she wanted to visit me so that she can have someone to talk to.

We went to Orchard, bought a few shites for my bro, sis and dad and other people. Bought a lot of perfume at Lucky Plaza. Y’all should check out this perfume parlor at Basement 1, call “Dollars & Scents” (yes… they always try to play with words here and they never fail to amuse me:d). Since I’m their regular costumer, they gave us really good price. Like we bought Armani City Glam for my dad, it cost $113 in shopping malls while they sell it to us for $72. Good price right!

And then we went to Mustafa centre cos I wanted to buy a luggage, and I settled with a “mean, big ass, anything can fit in this mothafuckin luggage!”… even my housemate, Gani can fit in it, too bad the base was painful for her, otherwise she would have really tried and fit herself in it, but this picture is funny enough to show you that it’s a “mean, big ass, anything can fit in this mothafuckin luggage!”

Then my mommy and I had some yummy indian food for for dinner.

She’s went back to Jakarta yesterday afternoon and I miss her allready! Mam, thanks for the killer mangoes, tapioka chips, kue lapis, ayam nyonya suharti, rendang, dendeng belado, bumbu2an, bakso urat and last but not least my favourite… empek empek!

I heart you mama!!!
